Good tasks make CDM easier to operate. Poor tasks create noise and make workflow progress harder to trust.

Write Action Titles

A good task title starts with the action.

Examples:

Use Descriptions For Context

The description should give the assignee enough information to complete the work.

Include names, documents, dates, decision context, or blockers when useful.

Link Tasks To The Right Record

Use the most specific record that fits the action.

Client for case-level work.

Loan for loan and servicing work.

Work Plan for scope, bid, inspection, construction, payment, and closeout work.

Assign Ownership

If one person owns the next step, assign the task.

If ownership is unclear, leave it unassigned temporarily and review unassigned tasks regularly.
