When a Spec Template is added to a new Work Plan, CDM copies selected template values into a draft Work Item.

Fields Copied Into Work Items

CDM copies:

• Template Description to Work Item Description.
• Template Detail to Work Item Memo.
• Spec Division Number to Work Item Division Number.
• Spec Division Name to Work Item Division Name.
• Unit to estimated measurement unit.
• Cost Per Unit to estimated cost per unit.
• Base Rate to base rate.
• Instructional Spec flag to the work item.
• Template reference to the work item.

Fields Not Supplied by the Template

The user still needs to review or enter job-specific information such as:

• Quantity / units.
• Final unit cost, if the default does not apply.
• Project-specific detail text.
• Contractor assignment.
• Accepted bid values.
• Change orders.
