Funding Sources track where rehabilitation money comes from, how it is budgeted, how it is assigned to projects, and how activity affects remaining balances.

In CDM, Funding Sources are organized in two main layers:

• Programs are the top-level funding records. A program stores the program ID, program name, source type, award funds, leveraged funds, budget categories, program income setup, and program-level ledger activity.
• Projects sit under programs. A project stores the local activity or project budget, target area, fiscal year, goal amounts, beneficiary and unit goals, loan limits, and project income or expenditure activity.

Use Funding Sources when staff need to answer questions such as:

• Which programs are active?
• How much award and leveraged funding is available?
• How much has been assigned to projects?
• Which programs or projects are over assigned?
• Which funding source should be tied to a loan or work plan?
• Which draw requests have been requested, received, or partially received?
• Which income or expenditure entries affect project or program balances?

Operating Model

Start at the Funding Dashboard to review overall program funding health.

Open a Program when you need to review program-level award, leveraged funds, budget categories, projects, draws, and program ledger activity.

Open a Project when you need to review a specific activity, target area, local budget, goals, income, or expenditure activity.

Use Draw Requests when funds have been requested from the funding agency or external source and need to be tracked through receipt.

Use Income / Expenditures for project-level activity that adjusts the project balance outside the basic project budget amount.

Common User Roles

Rehab Specialists usually interact with Funding Sources indirectly while selecting project funding for loans, work plans, reports, and disbursements.
